Food Review : Nasi Kandar Penang Kudu bin Abdul

This post is a pretty delayed post. Last month, I finally fulfilled my Nasi Kandar craving by visiting one of the famous Nasi Kandar shop in Kuala Lumpur. Been wanting to visit this place for awhile. After looking through other food blogs and their reviews, the food really look good so I thought I should give it a try.

The restaurant is located near by Maju Junction and is along the busy Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Parking might be a hassle if you plan to visit this place during a weekdays. You know how Kuala Lumpur is during weekdays. Jam, jam, jam and nothing but more jam.

Nasi Kandar with fried cabbage, lady's finger and Ayam Kicap

The shop is pretty small and is usually very pack during the peak hours (lunch hour) So that is pretty much why you might need to queue up for the food.

Ikan Masak Asam

Sotong

After much discussion with my friends that went, we thought that this place is very overrated eventhough they were popular. Not a place we would come again. The ayam kicap's meat was very dry which made it too tough to eat. The sotong wasn't as fresh as we expected. This also happened for the Udang Galah that we took. Usually, I would always ask the price of the seafood in Nasi Kandar restaurants but since it was my first time here, so I thought I would just try everything they had but it made me regretted my actions.

Udang Galah which cost RM15 per piece, so not worth it

The Udang Galah cost RM15 per PIECE which was a real slaughter house. If it was good and fresh I wouldn't complain but it wasn't unfortunately. The curry was different from the curry that I usually have but I don't think it suit our taste.

This is the second place I went to in Kuala Lumpur that is really overrated. This one and Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa >.<

On the brightside, actually the food is pretty cheap if you order the basic, (Rice+meat+vege) it would only cost you RM5.50. You might want to give it a try, if you are nearby the area but it's certainly not on my recommendation list.

The after effect

The only time you see us looking like this is when the bill is RM93 for 4 person's nasi kandar which is totally mind wrecking. I guess my nasi kandar hunt is still gonna go on. Any suggestions?

well..without the extras like the super expensive prawns and fish..it would have been only Rm5-6 per plate. Oh well..

Anyway bout kayu, it has always been not bad. Just to me the standard drop a little compared to last time. that's why i am looking for a new place. Still not bad though and the roti tissue there would give a nice surprise. But do be careful not to choose too much from the nasi kandar selection. normal is bout rm 7-9 per plate and if you take more it can go to rm15 like my fren. lol. Give it a try lo.
