I always wanted to visit the Little Korea of Kuala Lumpur which I have been delaying for quite sometime. Not to mention a whole list of food places, I want to go. I wonder if anyone want to follow me to different places every weekend :D One weekend different place, different traveling companion. hehe.
Anyway, Ampang also known as Little Korea because there is quite a huge number of Korean people living over there. Why you might ask? I have no idea. I guess maybe Malaysia is a much better place to retire compared to Korea in terms cost of living? Who knows? But when there's people from different country there meant there was authentic food!
Back to the food again, finally got the chance to go there with my family for my birthday after searching on the internet. When you go Ampang, you will actually see like 4-7 Korean BBQ restaurants or maybe even more? So I have to say we are either spoil for choices or doom to choose a place that's not good? So always do your research before going :D
After my trip to Korea in 2002,I always long for their authentic korean BBQ. I feel this place is pretty much similar to the ones I had in Korea. Even the BBQ pit is the same.
As usual they will have their selection of Korean side dishes which is refillable for free as long as you are ordering their bbq stuff if I am not wrong.
Their most popular dish should be the BBQ beef ribs which is pretty interesting. It is marinated to perfection I have to say. One of the best I tasted for Korean Bbq Usually you will have pork ribs more often, other than Tony Romas in Malaysia of course.
Just to let you know, the boss is a korean lady and she was really nice. She gave us a free creamy milky dessert :)
Price wise, you will need at least 40-50 per person when you eat here. You might think it's quite expensive but it's worth it I have to say. Where can you get quality authentic food unless you fly to Korea yourself :p and I have to say I ate until my stomach was filled 110% that night. Give it a try if you want authentic Korean bbq!
