Food Review : Hanazen@Jaya One

I was actually trying to complete my blog post about my trip to Perth but I got a writer's block. So while trying to complete that post I am gonna do a right up of this place I went during my dad's birthday.

The place is actually located at Jaya One (location map) which have been opened for quite sometime. There is a wide variety of food choices there which is listed in their website, also with the type food that is served in the restaurant. That day we opted for Japanese instead because we wanted to eat something less oily.

Jaya One

The ambiance for the place is pretty good, dimly lighted and cool. Just the strong smell of sea water is a little overwhelming, but I guess that shows how fresh the ingredients they are using.

The seats

We were suppose to eat healthy but we ended up eating mostly oily stuff. We seem to be looking more on the tempting Japanese dishes instead of the usual sushi.

The ever important Green Tea

Here are some of the things that we ordered. Sorry about the poorly lighted photos, I still need a lot of practice to make good food photo shots ad of course I was in a hurry to eat. :p Bare with me for now.

Edaname Beans

Garlic Fried Rice (This one is pretty good and tasty)

Unagi (my favourite but for this one the skin was a little too thick)

Teppanyaki Vegetable

California Roll (the only healthy thing that we ordered that night >.< )

Japansese Long Fish

Teriyaki Chicken

Asparagus Wrapped with Beef (This was pretty ordinary despite the great presentation but the beef was tender) (

Japanese Fried Chicken

Overall the food was pretty good. I don't mind going back there to try their bento set which looked really big and nice. There was quite a variety for the sets. The food was pretty fresh judging from the California roll I ate.

Price wise, for a Japanese restaurant is still considered alright but if you are on a tight budget you can still eat the Donburi which cost similar to the ones in Sakae Sushi and Sushi Zanmai (about RM12-15)

It's a place you can give a try if you are looking for a new place to eat or you can give a try to the other restaurants in Jaya One but mind you, mostly are cuisine restaurant therefore there's not many choice for anything cheaper than RM10 per person. Keep that in mind.

A funny birthday gift given by my dad's colleagues. Don't worry my dad's not having a secret admirer :p but giving flowers is pretty funny especially for a guy, don't you all think so?

Sanflowers

Also that day, I attempted making a chocolate layer cake for my dad which wasn't a success yet wasn't a failure :p Give me a break, I haven't done baking for awhile plus I am really lousy at decorating.

The cake I did for my dad ( murdered by my brother )

Anyway ken..sushi king really ain't that nice. If you really want right? you should try Sushi Zanmai at the Gardens or Sunway or 1u..it's far better than sushi king i can assure you..
